In addition to her mediation practice, Nicole E. Schiavo is an experienced attorney who selectively represents individuals, families, and small businesses in matters where her background, judgment, and practical approach can add meaningful value. With more than two decades of legal experience, Nicole brings a broad perspective to problem-solving. Her practice has included commercial litigation, negotiation, regulatory and compliance matters, complex financial and property issues, business concerns, and family law. That experience allows her to assess not only the legal question presented, but also the practical consequences of the available paths forward.

Nicole does not maintain a traditional general-practice caseload. Instead, she accepts a limited number of representation matters based upon the nature of the issue, the needs of the client, and whether her experience is well suited to the circumstances.

While Catalyst Mediation is primarily focused on resolution-oriented family transitions, there are circumstances where dedicated individual representation and strategic advocacy become necessary, particularly where there are significant conflict dynamics, safety concerns, complex property issues, or failed negotiation efforts.

Nicole approaches these matters thoughtfully and strategically, with a focus on protecting her client's interests while pursuing practical and sustainable resolution whenever possible.

Litigation is sometimes necessary. But in many family matters—particularly those involving ongoing relationships or coparenting dynamics—strategic resolution can better serve the people who must continue living with the outcome long after the case itself is over.
